Amy Fenegan works as a trainer and assessor in business skills. She has been assessing, verifying and teaching for 10 years in various subjects and currently delivers Business Administration, Customer Service, Retail, Management and Team Leading training. Amy also trains new assessors and internal verifiers.
She delivers qualifications to learners in Sixth Form and has delivered to multiple schools within the Torbay area. She is currently working with Kingsbridge College to deliver a programme of learning for them. Amy previously worked for a private training provider and has completed all her qualifications whilst working.
Amy says: "I am a true believer in vocational training and it being an alternative option to the university route, enabling learners to access education at any point in their careers and helping learners who may not be suited to the formal route due to life circumstances, enjoyment of the classroom environment or access to the funding in order to complete qualifications.
"Getting to know learners and their workplaces is my favourite part of the role. I have visited some really interesting and unexpected workplaces in the past and no two days are ever the same! Helping learners to achieve their educational goals and progress within their roles or even go on to other things is a privilege to be part of, especially those learners who thought their days of training were over and find a renewed interest in career development."
Amy says she has a busy household with a husband, two teenagers and an Old English Sheepdog that they enjoy heading out with, come rain or shine. Amy is also an avid reader.
