Award-winning Sophie takes the apprenticeship route
We think all our apprentices are winners, but sometimes one of them is lucky enough to be recognised in a national award.
One such is Sophie Oliver, who has been recognised as the Administration Apprentice Rising Star and as Advanced Apprentice of the Year (Level 3) in the SME Employer and Recruitment Excellence Awards for the South-West area.
Sophie works at Combe Pafford School in Torquay. The school has a wide-range of pupils from the area and specialises in education for children with learning difficulties, physical challenges and autism spectrum conditions.
Tutored and assessed by Swatpro Academy’s Amy Fenegan, Sophie achieved her Level 3 Business Apprenticeship before being offered the role of Finance Officer at the school, with a Level 4 School Business Professional apprenticeship ongoing.
“It has been a really beneficial opportunity I never thought I would be offered,” Sophie says.
“The best part of my apprenticeships has been the experience I have gained of being in a workplace and the variety my apprenticeship has offered as I have been able to learn about various aspects of business.”
With awards, career advancement and qualifications in Sophie’s in-tray, we think she is the perfect advertisement of how an apprenticeship can benefit all.
