Marie makes waves at Atlantic – with Swatpro Academy’s help
After studying Oceanography at university, it seems only fitting that Marie Arroyo-Lopez would work for a firm called Atlantic.
However, it was her Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship, overseen by Swatpro Academy, that has helped Marie really launch her career.
“I was able to learn new skills to help me in my career and then apply what I learned to my job. I had never worked in an office before and adapted really quickly,” she says.
Marie works as a Assistant Project Manager for Atlantic Languages, a Plymouth-based business that has been providing interpreting services and running bespoke language learning courses for businesses and individuals, for 30 years.
Her apprenticeship gave her the solid background she needed to work with the Atlantic team.
Swatpro Academy’s Stacy Harrall-Phillips, who oversaw the apprenticeship, says: “It was a pleasure to work with Marie. Her dedication and willingness to learn gained her a Distinction when the course was assessed, which is well deserved.”
Marie adds: “Stacy really helped develop me not only in the workforce but as a person. I am much more confident in my role now than I was at the start.
“If someone was thinking about becoming an apprentice with Swatpro Academy, I would tell them to go for it! It’s a great way to learn, gain experience, and get paid at the same time.
“If you have any doubts - I had plenty! - your assessor will reassure you. They want you to succeed and it really shows.”
