My Apprenticeship Journey – Kelly Swann

Apprenticeships give you the real skills, knowledge and behaviours that you need to progress in today’s competitive workplace.

One apprentice who completed her qualification with flying colours was Kelly Swann.

Kelly, who is 32, works at Barton Surgery in Dawlish. Kelly achieved a distinction in her Business Administrator apprenticeship, supported by Swatpro, the South West’s own expert training specialists,

An apprenticeship was appealing to Kelly, she told us: “I was looking to change careers and taking on an apprenticeship was the perfect opportunity to try learn a new career pathway with structured training.”

Kelly added that the course achieved this and much more: “I successfully got hired for a full-time position in an administration role. The training has helped me carry out the day-to-day expectations of my job role. The training has also made me aware that there are other training opportunities if I wished to further my career.

“I would encourage individuals to join an apprenticeship if they want on-the-job experience whilst training. The support from the tutors is amazing. They break up the course in manageable deadlines and are quick to respond if you have any queries.”
