CHEF DE PARTIE APPRENTICESHIP
A chef de partie runs specific sections within a kitchen, whether this is grill, vegetable, fish or sauté.
This Apprenticeship consists of:
✯A minimum duration of 12 months learning
✯Functional Skills Maths (Level 2)
✯Functional Skills English (Level 2)
✯An independent assessment following the end date of learning
A chef de partie runs specific sections within a kitchen, whether this is grill, vegetable, fish or sauté.They usually manage a small team ensuring dishes go out on time and the area is orderly and clean. In smaller kitchens a chef de partie may work independently as the only person in their section.
Also known as a station or section chef, the chef de partie reports to the senior chef and has a very important role in any kitchen.
Progression from this apprenticeship is expected to be into a senior culinary chef role.
An employer will determine their own entry requirements for an employee to commence this apprenticeship, but these general entry requirements apply; you must be aged 16 years or over and must be working in the hospitality and catering sector for at least 30 hours a week. You also need to be a resident in England and not taking part in full-time education. Sometimes you can work less hours a week with the apprenticeship taking a longer period.
