SENIOR CHEF APPRENTICESHIP IN PRODUCTION COOKING


Production chefs are likely to work in organisations where brands, recipes and menus have been created by a central development team.


This Apprenticeship consists of:

✯A minimum duration of 18 months learning

✯Functional Skills Maths (Level 2)

✯Functional Skills English (Level 2)

✯An independent assessment following the end date of learning

Production chefs are likely to work in organisations where brands, recipes and menus have been created by a central development team. They work, often independently, to produce meals consistently to perfection in highly challenging kitchen environments.They work quickly and efficiently producing food in high volumes, day after day. They are skilled, methodical, organised and have a great attention to details.


Progression:

Chefs will gain experience in an operational role, typically without supervisory responsibilities before progressing onto this apprenticeship.

Individuals that successfully achieve the senior chef apprenticeship in production cooking will be ready to progress onto a higher-level position, apprenticeship or further training.

Entry Requirements:

An employer will determine their own entry requirements for an employee to commence this apprenticeship, but these general entry requirements apply; you must be aged 16 years or over and must be working in the hospitality and catering sector for at least 30 hours a week. You also need to be a resident in England and not taking part in full-time education. Sometimes you can work less hours a week with the apprenticeship taking a longer period.
